Hanging basket outside a brownstone-any laws why I can't?

I have prepared a floral hanging basket to hang out front of my brownstone co-op in North Park Slope ( Bergen St ). Does anyone know of any by laws that would prevent me from doing this. I wouldn’t want a summons accusing me of defacing a historic building! Just playing safe!

North Park Slope co-op owners can be a nasty bunch.  Check with your own by-laws.  You do not own your unit, let alone anything outside it’s four walls!!!!

I doubt that there are any laws prohibiting thas and, if there are, they’re not enforced. FWIW I’ve had baskets on my house for years.
