Prospect Lefferts Gardens
Evenly bordered by Empire Boulevard and Clarkson and New York avenues, this nabe is cozily snuggled against Prospect Park’s eastern drive, across the way from Park Slope and adjacent to greater Flatbush and Crown Heights. Like its surrounding areas, Prospect Lefferts Gardens is largely defined by a longtime Caribbean population, although increasingly the area is a haven for outpriced Manhattanites and Park Slopers. Dominated by prewar apartment buildings, small-scale commercial corridors (abounding in authentic Jamaican cuisine), and landmarked brick townhomes, the area provides treelined streets, large swaths of sky and a warm community feel.
