Is it oak or pine?
I can’t tell what wood this is. It comes from a Brooklyn brownstone. It is tongue and groove, 5/16th deep, 2 inches wide. Is it oak or pine? Perhaps a brownstone historian knows if pine was ever used as parquet. I suspect, at 5/16th deep, it was not a subfloor. Maybe this pile is a mix of woods.

5/16 is extremely thin for any t&g. Most of the old bstone parquets are face nailed strip floors That wood is still available at several places around the city. Usually, t&g is 3/4 thick.
Most parquet floors are oak. Pine is used as sub floors as long strips or finish floor in smaller bstones or older houses, say in brooklyn heights.
You can posts links of photos on flicker. Or find my website and email to me and i will tell you. You can text if easier.

Whoops. How does one post pictures, per above, on this Forum?
